CERESLabs and Sniffer Labs Partner to Combat Cannabis Testing Bottleneck
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, CA – CERESLabs and Sniffer Labs have joined forces to tackle the supply-chain bottleneck crisis in cannabis and industrial hemp testing industry. All cannabis products must meet strict testing requirements which has led to testing laboratories around the globe becoming backlogged with requests. This delay is costing cannabis companies millions of dollars.
The solution comes from a patented Sniffer Labs sensor technology that is being implemented by CERESLabs. This technology was originally designed for the US Government to find explosive chemicals in real time, protecting US personnel and infrastructure. The Sniffer Labs team has repurposed the sensor to detect the critical substances required for identification in cannabis and industrial hemp testing, including cannabinoids, terpenes, and harmful agents like pesticides, heavy metals and mold. This real time application leads to a much quicker turn-around time, more accurate and consistent results with significantly reduced overhead costs.
Both parties expect the technology to have an immediate effect once implemented in the CERESLabs operation in Greenfield, California. The technology is currently in beta and is expected to be fully operational this summer. CERESLabs will be the first testing provider to service clients using the Sniffer Labs technology. It will be used in two key areas of testing: 1) Pre-tests that occur early on in the process to help cultivators reduce crop loss and gain certainty around certified test results, and 2) Compliance tests which are required by the states in order to sell cannabis products to consumers.
The CERESLabs/Sniffer Labs introduction came through Garrett Hale, Managing Partner of Roth Hale Advisors. According to Hale, “Our mission is to connect like-minded companies and investors in order to advance professionalism and collaboration in the overall cannabis industry. These two companies will now have the opportunity to significantly improve the lab testing space.”
CERESLabs is a cannabis and industrial hemp analytical testing operation with its first laboratory opening this summer in Monterey County, CA. Their global mission is to ensure safe and appropriate products for all end users. The team intelligently blends laboratory leadership, Wall Street talent, operational expertise, world-class marketing and cannabinoid pharmacology.
